NON-GEOGRAPHIC NUMBERS

Do you have an 0800, 0870, or 0845 number? If so we’ll probably be able to save you money here as well. If you are not using a Non-geographic number somewhere in your organisation, WHY NOT?

0800 Freephone Numbers - With no cost to the customer, a freephone number means that there is nothing to stop them picking up the phone to call you. The sign of a truly customer focussed organisation.

0845 Lo-call Numbers - The customer usually pays the standard BT lo-call rate, regardless from where in the country they make the call. This should not be confused with the rate being charged for making local calls. With rates reducing over the past few years the cost to the caller can often be greater than their normal local rate charge.

0870 National Rate Numbers - The caller pays the standard national rate for their call. In today’s market this can be up to 3 times more than they would pay for a geographic national call. However, your business benefits from revenue generated by every call you receive. Great if you want to keep your customers hanging on.

CALL CENTRE MANAGEMENT

The flexibility of how the call can be delivered means that the call centre can be wherever the people are, even at home.

Customer Service Help Line

Businesses can provide a customer service help line by using a non-geographic number. The number can be combined with a calling plan to manage a customer support team, diverting call volume to different destinations when lines are busy.

Sales Order Line

A non-geographic number can be used as a sales order line by a company, providing the company with either a local or national presence.

PREMIUM RATE SERVICES

Use the phone to generate revenues for your business
Premium Rate Services or PRS, offer a way to unlock the value of information and content. It doesn’t matter whether your services are voice or Internet based, if your customers want what you’ve got to offer, they will be prepared to pay for it.

The content that is supplied through these services can take various forms, ranging from information and competition lines, to leisure and entertainment services such as chat lines. Or services whereby callers donate to charitable organisations. Users either make a telephone call or dial up through an Internet Dialler and are charged for accessing content. The revenue generated is then shared between the providers of the service.

PHONE CONFERENCING

Do you have need to speak to several people at once but your phone system limits the number you can call?

The benefits of Conferencing
BT Conferencing allows you to save the time, expense, hassle and stress associated with travelling to face-to-face meetings, whilst still bringing together the right people to make decisions. For example, when Year 6 pupils are transferred from feeder to secondary schools, the latter may be dealing with half a dozen primary schools. Organising conventional meetings with all the key players present can be a nightmare. Conferencing helps to overcome such difficulties. The same applies to creating and co- ordinating school or college timetables. Moreover, impromptu meetings can be set up to check accuracy or address time-critical concerns. For example, when the Government issues a new directive, school governors can arrange an emergency conference to discuss the implications. Conferencing can also be used for pre- meeting discussions, such as gaining agreement on key issues with the school bursar, thus allowing accurate information to be shared at a subsequent face-to-face meeting. Other conferencing applications could include parent/staff liaison group meetings, staff development and sharing best practice. Last but not least, specialist teachers, tutors and lecturers can use conferencing to deliver courses and training to students at home, in the workplace and in remote classrooms.

BT MeetMe
MeetMe is a BT phone conferencing service that allows up to 20 individuals at different locations to do exactly that meet each other, using what effectively becomes the same phone line. There's no need to book, and all participants need in order to join a conference call is a phone connected to a land line or a mobile line. Getting started with MeetMe is a piece of cake. There's another aspect to MeetMe, which adds even more value to the service. It's a combination of phone and web conferencing. Think of it as the best of both worlds. Participants still use a phone to make their points verbally. Via their PC screens and an Internet connection, they will additionally be able to see and discuss documents you decide to share with them, together with spreadsheets and other PC-based applications. With BT MeetMe you only pay for the service you use. There's no need to book, so there are no cancellation fees. Web collaboration is charged at the standard conferencing bridging charge per participant for each minute they're online. Customisation using the web tools is free of charge, as is the use of the chairperson's web controls during a conference.

Managed conferencing
BT Event Call offers you a choice of managed conferencing services: * Event Call phone conferencing: No restriction on the number of participants. Anyone can join the same call, at any time, from any location, providing they have the correct pass code. Additional features include voting using a phone key * Event Call phone and web conferencing: Again there's restriction on the number of participants. Options include online chat for Q&As and voting. * ConferenceStream: Participants to listen to a conference call over the Internet in real time. They can also rewind and replay specific elements, and then fast forward to rejoin the live webcast.
